Come vi ho anticipato qualche ora fa (con un post dedicato al cast), è stato presentato a Milano “Dirty Dancing -The Classic Story On Stage”: un’importante produzione teatrale in arrivo in Italia grazie alla volontà dei produttori del musical “Sugar - A qualcuno piace caldo”, di Bananas srl (produttori di “Zelig”), di Enrico Porreca (produttore, tra gli altri, di Ennio Morricone e Angelo Pintus) e DECO’ (società responsabile dell'organizzazione generale delle esibizioni live di Zelig legate alla registrazione del programma televisivo), che insieme hanno dato vita alla Wizard Productions srl, società che, in collaborazione con La Contrada – Teatro Stabile di Trieste, ha acquisito, in esclusiva per l’Italia, i diritti dello spettacolo Dirty Dancing nella versione originale attualmente in scena in Inghilterra, firmata dalla stessa ideatrice del film, l’americana Eleanor Bergstein.

"Il debutto assoluto italiano di “Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage” è previsto a Milano il 9 ottobre al Barclays Teatro Nazionale con repliche fino al 28 dicembre 2014.
Dirty Dancing è un titolo da record: non solo il film è stato un successo planetario con 40 milioni di copie della colonna sonora vendute e, solo negli Stati Uniti, oltre 11 milioni di dvd e blu-ray; ma anche lo spettacolo, a partire dal 2004 (anno del suo debutto assoluto mondiale, tenutosi in Australia), nei suoi vari debutti internazionali ha registrato mesi e mesi di tutto esaurito.
Ad Amburgo (Germania) ha segnato la più alta prevendita di biglietti nella storia del teatro europeo, mentre nel 2006, incassando ben £11.000.000, ha ottenuto la più alta prevendita nella storia del West End londinese.
Dirty Dancing è un cult: entrato nella memoria collettiva di tutti che anno dopo anno si è trasformato in un fenomeno senza tempo, uno di quei film che si (ri)vedono sempre volentieri e di cui si ricordano perfettamente scene e battute.
Dopo ben 27 anni dalla sua uscita nelle sale cinematografiche (21 agosto 1987) non accenna a perdere il suo fascino ma, al contrario, continua ad appassionare e divertire nuove e vecchie generazioni anche grazie alla sua versione teatrale, che promette di far rivivere dal vivo tutte le emozioni e la magia del film.

LO SPETTACOLO
Un concentrato di romanticismo, sensualità e musiche travolgenti
“Dirty Dancing The Classic Story On Stage” è la fedele trasposizione teatrale dell’omonimo successo cinematografico, e racconta l’inaspettato incontro tra la giovane Baby Houseman e l’affascinante maestro di ballo Johnny Castle nel resort per famiglie “Da Kellerman”.
Una romantica storia d’amore sbocciata nella tipica atmosfera estiva di un villaggio turistico, raccontata da musiche indimenticabili e balli sensuali.
La ricerca del cast da parte del team creativo inglese, affiancato da quello italiano, e con la supervisione di Eleanor Bergstein, si è conclusa dopo oltre tre mesi di lavoro, durante i quali sono state raccolte più di 1000 candidature. Saranno Sara Santostasi nel ruolo di Frances “Baby” Houseman e Gabrio Gentilini nel ruolo di Johnny Castle, a guidare il cast italiano composto da: Federica Capra (Penny Johnson), Simone Pieroni (Dr. Jake Houseman), Mimmo Chianese (Max Kellerman), Irene Urciuoli (Lisa Houseman), Natalia Magni (Marjorie Houseman), Rodolfo Ciulla (Neil Kellerman), Marco Stabile (Billy Kostecki, Renato Cortesi (Mr. Schumacher), Russell Russell (Tito Suarez), Giuseppe Verzicco (ensemble/Robbie Gould), Ilaria De Angelis (ensemble/Elizabeth), Pasquale Girone (ensemble/Jordan), Chiara Rosignoli (ensemble/Vivian Pressman), Aldo Esposito (ensemble/Moe Pressman), Lucia Blanco (ensemble), José Antonio Dominguez (ensemble), Sara Marinaccio (ensemble), Giusy Messina (ensemble), Paky Vicenti (ensemble), Azzurra Adinolfi (swing) e Thomas Signorelli (swing/dance captain).
Un’orchestra di otto elementi suonerà dal vivo le celebri musiche dello spettacolo “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life”, vincitrice di un Premio Oscar e di un Golden Globe, è solo uno dei successi che compongono la straordinaria colonna sonora, che comprende hit internazionali come ‘Hungry Eyes’, ‘Do You Love Me?’ e ‘Hey! Baby’. Rispetto alla versione inglese, nell’adattamento italiano verranno tradotti solo i dialoghi, mentre le canzoni resteranno in lingua originale.
